Apart from the fantastically strange and weird outfits what do we really know about lady Gaga?
Her real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta born on the 28th march 186. She is an American recording artist.
She began performing in the rock music scene of New York City’s lower east side. Her debut album the fame was released n august 19 2008 it reached number one in Canada, Austria, Germany and Ireland.
It’s first two singles just dance and poker face became international hits, topping the hot 100 in the United States as well as other countries. The album later earned a total of six Grammy award nominations and won awards for the best electronic/dance album and best dance recording. She has sold over thirty five singles and over eight million albums.
When lady gaga was young she used to sing into a pretend microphone to artists such as Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper and danced with her dad to the rolling stones and the Beatles “I always was an entertainer I was a ham when I was young and I’m a ham now” says lady gaga.
She made a name for herself on the lower east side club scene with her dance moves, her ‘shock art performances’ where Gaga makes and designs many of her stage outfits would strip down to her hand made hot pants and bikini top. She took her name from Queen’s song radio Gaga.
She believes fame is not just about the music but about the performance, the attitude and the look and that is what she wants to achieve as an artist.
Lady Gaga is just trying to change the world one sequin at a time.
Before writing this article I was guilty of judging Lady Gaga on her appearance, the clothes she wears and the rumours I have heard, but as I looked beyond all that, beyond the crazy outfits with which she hides behind, I saw someone very similar to me someone with dreams, she may have fame and money but that all started out with the little plastic microphone and dancing with her father. If we are all honest we all judge people the same by their looks and their clothes or their popularity status, but if we look harder maybe we can see the true person not just the mask they hide behind.
